​无定形稳定性 - 警惕吸湿性!
​对于可混溶的无定形混合物体系,其性质在很大程度上取决于各组分的性质,特别是各组分之间相互作用的程度,以及由此产生的混合物相对于各组分的自由体积变化。这又反映在混合物的玻璃化转变温度上,​可混溶的无定形混合物的 Tgmix 值通常介于各组分的 Tg 值之间。通常,我们会选择具有较高Tg的辅料来制备无定形固体分散体,以提高无定形混合物的整体Tg,增强其物理稳定性。
然而,无定形固体缺乏长程有序性,比相应的结晶形态具有更大的自由体积、更低的密度和更大的分子迁移率。与可混溶液体一样,自由体积的增加,会导致固体与水分子具有一定程度的 “混溶性”,从而使水分子渗透或 “吸收 ”到无定形固体的主体结构中。在这种情况下,与晶体相比,无定形在特定相对湿度下吸收的水蒸气总量将大大提高,尤其是对于极性分子。

对于PVP等极性更强的无定形固体,其在相近的相对湿度值下,吸水率会更高,对 Tg 的影响也会更大。如下图,干燥的PVP的Tg值为448K,而在 75% 相对湿度条件下,PVP 大约吸收了 25% w/w 的水,其 Tg 值为 300 K,即降低了 118 K,这意味着分子迁移率大大增加,塑化效果显著。
